In this time of social distancing, with gym and fitness studio closures and home confinement, your exercise routine might be disrupted or completely non-existent. Or maybe you are ready to start exercising, but you don’t know where to begin.

Lucky for you, Iowa Weight Loss Specialists is here to support you in being active, while staying at home. Whether you are a beginner or have been exercising for years, there is something for you. And you don’t need a lot of equipment to participate.You can join live stream workouts through YouTube, Facebook Live, Instagram TV and more and access recorded fitness classes on demand via several websites. From yoga and Pilates to HIIT and strength training classes and routines, you can get a great workout from the comfort of your own home, for free! Many of these classes have modifications for different fitness levels.

Everyone benefits from exercise, both physically and mentally. Whether your goal is weight loss or weight maintenance, now is a great time to build exercise into your routine. Start small, make a plan and stick to it. Find something that is safe for your fitness and comfort level. Access a few classes, try something new and get comfortable moving. Be Fit Pitt through the Pitt Healthy Lifestyle Institute has classes and online workouts – no equipment needed -

Farrell’s Extreme Body shaping is streaming classes on Facebook live. You can watch them live or visit them later on their Facebook page

The Fitbit premium app is free for 90 days, offering resources to help you stay active, sleep well and manage stress

The National Institute for Aging Go4Life program offers workouts geared towards older adults that includes warm up, strength and balancing exercises. They also have a YouTube page to search.

The YMCA 306 online platform is a great resource for older adults as well as involving your children in physical activity
