What made you decide to have weight loss surgery? Being more active with my family.
How long did it take for you to decide to have weight loss surgery? Not long after my first consultation.
Did anyone either encourage or discourage you from having surgery? My husband was very unsure about having a weight loss surgery in the beginning. It wasn't until he actually went to a meeting with me to hear about weight loss and what being overweight can cause.
What do you wish you'd known before the surgery? The effects of being social and not being able to drink with food. That for me was the hardest.
What things are you able to do now that may have been difficult or impossible before surgery? Hiking, more energy especially in the mornings. Able to walk longer with more adventures. Feeling confident in clothing that I would have never worn before.
Which conditions or diseases have you seen decrease or disappear since your surgery? The only thing I really had was snoring and that is gone for the most part.
How has surgery altered your outlook on life, your emotions, and/or relationships? I feel so much better in general. Shopping with my girls is more fun. My husband had never mentioned my weight before the surgery. He just said, he wanted me healthy. Now, we look at photos of the past and we both see how large I actually was and the difference this made for me. He see's me happier as well, which makes him happy.
Why did you decide to have surgery with Dr. Eibes? I saw the commercial and thought what did I have to lose just going in for a free consultation.
What would you say about Dr. Eibes and his team? Friendly, professional, there to help even after 8 years.
What would you tell someone who is considering weight loss surgery? I would say, you do what's best for you. Some say surgery is too extreme, but I don't. It's made my life even better than before.
