What made you decide to have weight loss surgery?  I was having trouble just walking to the mailbox and could not fully dress myself in the morning.

How long did it take for you to decide to have weight loss surgery?  One visit to the seminar and I had made my decision.

Did anyone either encourage or discourage you from having surgery?  No.

What do you wish you'd known before the surgery?  That I would feel this good afterwards!

What things are you able to do now that may have been difficult or impossible before surgery?  I am walking 8-10 miles per day, >20k steps/day,  where as before I could only walk 3k steps/day.  I can tie my own shoes, run up and down stairs, and do actual sit ups now!

Which conditions or diseases have you seen decrease or disappear since your surgery?  I have high blood pressure and was on medication to control it.  I am currently off medication and my BP is is in good shape.

How has surgery altered your outlook on life, your emotions, and/or relationships?  I have a much more positive outlook and generally in a much better position emotionally.

Why did you decide to have surgery with Dr. Eibes?  I attended a weight loss seminar at the West Des Moines office, and Dr. Eibes presented data from a paper concerning gherlin levels and hunger.  I had read this paper when I was a scientist at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.  He presented the data very effectively.  He had a good understanding of the data and how these data apply to struggle to lose weight.

What would you say about Dr. Eibes and his team?  I would say Dr. Eibes is a talented surgeon and his team is top notch! His relationship with Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond  is outstanding!  I received the best care I have had at a hospital from the crew in Belmond!

What would you tell someone who is considering weight loss surgery?  Do it sooner than later!  My only regret is I did not do this sooner!
