What made you decide to have weight loss surgery? Fatigue, joint issues, overall poor health.
How long did it take for you to decide to have weight loss surgery? I started about 10-12 years ago thinking about gastric bypass. But it was last year that I decided to try the gastric sleeve.
Did anyone either encourage or discourage you from having surgery? A friend from church had excellent results from the surgery and shared their story on Facebook.
What do you wish you'd known before the surgery? That I would be this happy this much... All the time. Wish I'd done it years ago.
What things are you able to do now that may have been difficult or impossible before surgery? I just finished running 5 miles at a 10 minute/mile pace.
Which conditions or diseases have you seen decrease or disappear since your surgery? I was suffering from joint and back pain. Those are gone. I had reflux. Gone as well. I also had low T and ED... My levels are normal and I no longer have any of those issues.
How has surgery altered your outlook on life, your emotions, and/or relationships? Changed it greatly for the better. I will compete in the Iowa Games this July in track and field. Something I thought I would never do again.
Why did you decide to have surgery with Dr. Eibes? Very attentive and personable. The support system is extraordinary.
What would you say about Dr. Eibes and his team? Very knowledgeable. Always available to answer even the simplest of questions.
What would you tell someone who is considering weight loss surgery? Don't hesitate. Start the process and let your new lease on life begin.
