What made you decide to have weight loss surgery? I decided to have weight loss surgery because nothing else was working to get the weight off and I was suffering from depression because of the weight.
How long did it take for you to decide to have weight loss surgery? I had researched weight loss surgery for about a year before going to my initial consultation.
Did anyone either encourage or discourage you from having surgery? I had a very supportive family once they realized I was determined to have the surgery, but they were hesitant in the beginning.
What do you wish you'd known before the surgery? I wish I would have know what a positive impact this surgery was going to have in my life, and wish I would have done it sooner.
What things are you able to do now that may have been difficult or impossible before surgery? I can grocery shop with out having to stop and rest because of the back pain and knee pain. I can workout without being self conscience at the gym.
Which conditions or diseases have you seen decrease or disappear since your surgery? I no longer have sleep apnea. I no longer suffer from depression that kept me in bed 16 hours a day. I don’t suffer from back and knee pain anymore.
How has surgery altered your outlook on life, your emotions, and/or relationships? I am the happiest I’ve ever been. I am no longer on antidepressants and life is so good now!
Why did you decide to have surgery with Dr. Eibes? I had researched the different weight loss surgery programs in the area and felt this team could meet my needs the best. I felt like I would get the best 1:1 care with them.
What would you say about Dr. Eibes and his team? I received the best care! Post-op care was excellent. I healed with no complications and minimal pain after surgery. I had called the office several times through out my journey, and they were able to get me in right away to help keep me on track to reach my goal!
What would you tell someone who is considering weight loss surgery? This is your journey. Don’t compare your progress to any one else. Stay focused and you will reach your goal! Call the office when you struggle. They will help you. If you are on the fence about having the surgery...do it! You won’t regret it!
