I was afraid I wouldn’t live to see grandchildren.

Since your vertical sleeve gastrectomy, besides the external changes, how has surgery altered your outlook on life?
I have more positive thinking - I’m happy all the time.

Has it changed your relationships with family, friends, or co-workers?
Yes, I now have energy to be more involved.

What other things have changed as a result of the surgery?
My health - no more high blood pressure, no more sleep apnea, and more energy!

What do you wish you’d known before the surgery?
Nothing - I made sure I did my research.

What would you tell someone who is considering vertical sleeve gastrectomy?
It’s not always easy, but the end result is so worth it! Where is your journey taking you? Living a longer life that I can participate in and not just watch.
