What to Expect 
Although you will receive an in-depth look at the entire surgery process at our free, weight loss surgery class, below is an overview of the entire weight loss surgery process from beginning to end.
- Attend free, weight loss surgery class
- Surgery approval process
- Initial consultation with Dr. Eibes/dietitian/financial counselor
- Release and forward diet history, tests, and labs to us from family provider
- Obtain cardiac clearance if requested by surgeon
- Obtain a mental health evaluation (which can be performed by our team)
- Program approval, our team will review your file to make sure it is safe for you to have surgery
- Insurance approval or private pay
- Office visit to schedule surgery
- Pre-op H. Pylori testing
- Tobacco testing
- Pre-op photos
- Surgery Day!
- Follow-up visits
- Visits occur at 1 week, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, and then annually for life
- Dietary counseling
- Mental health counseling
- Lab analysis 3 months after surgery and then annually
- Exercise program
- Support group
- Photos at 1 year
- Plastic surgery consult 1-2 years after weight loss surgery, if necessary
- Possible reconstructive surgery, if necessary
