Welcome to our Bariatric Surgery Informational Class Resource Center!

Here, you’ll find essential information and the necessary steps to begin your journey toward a healthier lifestyle. To ensure a smooth process, please watch our informative class and then contact our office at 515-327-2000 to schedule a consult.

The Iowa Weight Loss Specialists’ free bariatric surgery informational class is more than a formality—it’s the gateway to an informed, confident surgical weight loss journey. Candidates learn how this surgery works, what lifestyle changes drive lasting success, and which medical conditions or insurance rules could affect eligibility. Watching the class is required before a consultation with our surgeon, streamlining scheduling and preventing costly surprises.

Dr. Todd Eibes explains pre-op diet visits, post-op follow-ups, complication prevention, and realistic weight loss timelines, reducing anxiety and helping shape achievable expectations. Participants also discover support resources, such as peer groups, behavioral health services, and medication options, so they can start building a safety net early. It also spotlights financing pathways and sets attainable recovery milestones. By combining expert teaching with concrete next steps, the class equips prospective patients to satisfy insurer prerequisites, make empowered decisions, and enter the operating room prepared for long-term success.

If you have questions before or after watching the videos, please contact us at 515-327-2000.
